Shared Values for the Town of Harrison Select Board

The Harrison Select Board is committed to the principles of Transparency, Responsiveness, Respect, Accountability, and Collaboration — together forming our guiding framework: T.R.R.A.C.
These values shape how we govern, communicate, and serve the residents of Harrison every day.

T — Transparency

We believe in open and transparent government and commit to ensuring that all decision-making processes are clear, accessible, and well-communicated to the public.
Our goal is to build trust between the Town and its residents.

R — Responsiveness

We are committed to responding to the needs, concerns, and aspirations of the community we serve.
By planning ahead, being proactive in addressing challenges, and adapting to changing circumstances, we will react less and respond more.

R — Respect

We will treat every individual—whether a fellow Select Board member, municipal staff member, or resident—with dignity, fairness, and consideration.
We recognize that respectful interactions, both in public forums and behind the scenes, are essential to effective governance and the overall well-being of the community.

A — Accountability

We are accountable to one another and to the community we serve.
Each decision reflects our shared responsibility to act with integrity, stewardship, and transparency on behalf of the residents of Harrison.

C — Collaboration

We commit to listening actively to each other, staff, and the public.
We design decision-making processes to ensure that all voices are heard and valued, and we work together to build solutions that strengthen our community.
