Town Announcement:
Town of Harrison Board of Assessors met on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 6pm.

The Mil Rate was set at $7.70 (per $1,000.00 of assessed value).

The Town tax bills were mailed out last week (between 8/26 and 8/30). Questions: Please reach out via the website (under Assessor Page, Commitment Book 2024) or the Town Office 583-2241 

The Harrison Select Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 5:30 pm at the Town office regarding renewal applications for Automobile Junkyards. (John Campbel d/b/a Sports Cars and Harrison Auto Salvage).

HARRISON TOWN DOCK REMOVAL
Notice is being given that as of October 15, 2024, all town docks will be removed from the Long Lake boat launch and the Crystal Lake boat launch areas, weather permitting.

HEAP: HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Need help signing up for HEAP?
There will be HEAP staff in HARRISON at the Community Room above the Fire Station on Oct. 29th 9 AM-4 PM 

 Please do not forget to bring these documents.

Required documents:
  •   Government-issued photo ID for primary applicant (Driver’s license, State ID, EBT card w/photo, passport)
  •   SSN cards for all household members (or SSN verification documents: W2, 1099 tax form, US military document)
  •   Fuel vendor name and account #
  •   Most recent CMP bill (at least first page – we need the acct#, service address and the graph of usage)
  •   If an applicant is a CMP customer, the bill must be in the name of a household member in order to apply for any of the CMP low-income assistance programs.
  •   If rent is subsidized rent, then we need the housing certification letter (HUD form 50058/5005959 or RD 3560-8) that is in effect on date of application
  •   Proof of gross income for all household members: pay stubs for past 30 days or one month, SS award letter, pension benefit statement, and if self-employed then 2021 fed tax return, etc…
  •      Proof of SNAP or TANF benefits

DOG LICENSING Renewal dog licenses now have a $25 late fee per dog. Please bring proof of rabies vaccination.

The Proper Procedure if involved in Car vs Deer accident: Call 9-1-1, **if the Sheriff’s Department is involved, they will handle the injured or deceased deer. *

If you come upon a deceased deer, please call the non-emergency number of Cumberland County Dispatch (207) 893-2810 option 2.  ** Dispatch will notify local or state public works for retrieval of the deer.
* NOTE * If the incident happened on the weekend and is not a road hazard, it may take until the next business day for retrieval.
