Maine Citizens Guide to the Referendum Election
Absentee Voting has now closed - except for SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
To qualify to get an absentee because of special circumstances one of the
following must apply:
1. Unexpected absence from Town during the entire time the polls are open on Election day.
2. Physical or mental disability.
3. Inability to travel to the polls if the voter is a resident of an island ward or precinct.
4. Incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.
5. Being a caregiver who is unable to attend the polls due to the incapacity or illness of another person.
* A form will need to be signed by the voter before we can issue the ballots for special circumstance.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND.... The clerk's office will not be open for any other business on election days other than to facilitate voting.
The office will reopen on Wednesday at noon. If you have other business, please plan accordingly.
