The Town of Harrison would like to advise its residents of a local health concern the 'Browntail Moth' and subsequently providing the following information. Attached is a link to the Maine CDC website:  Health Advisory Detail | MeCDC | Maine DHHS and an Informational Brochure. This past week we have also printed out this brochure, it is available at the Town Office.

The Town Manager has been working with the Parks Department and seeking solutions (organic if possible) to eradicate any potential concerning nesting areas.

The Town of Harrison Recreation Department is also currently seeking and accepting applications for the following summer seasonal positions:

1- Lifeguards with or without WSI (WSI Preferred)
-Applicants must be certified through the American Red Cross or become certified on or before June 17, 2024.
-Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a desire to teach and work with children!

Our Contracted Assessors are finishing the fieldwork. The revaluation process is headed toward completion. We thank you for your patience throughout this process. We anticipate that the final numbers will be ready for the next tax billing cycle.

 The Proper Procedure if involved in Car vs Deer accident: Call 9-1-1, **if the Sheriff’s Department is involved, they will handle the injured or deceased deer. *
If you come upon a deceased deer, please call the non-emergency number of Cumberland County Dispatch (207) 893-2810 option 2.  ** Dispatch will notify local or state public works for retrieval of the deer.
* NOTE * If the incident happened on the weekend and is not a road hazard, it may take until the next business day for retrieval.
